Toesty Makes Heat. Doesn’t Just Hold It.

Every thermal sock on the market is insulation. Insulation traps heat — it can’t create any. For feet that aren’t producing heat in the first place, there is nothing there to trap. Toesty runs a heating element the length of the foot and adds heat instead of waiting on yours.

Wear Them All Day. Heat Only When You Need It.

Unpowered they’re just a well-made sock, so they go on in the morning and stay on. Press the button when your feet start going.
Three settings, so it’s never a choice between frozen and overheated — most people sit on low indoors and save high for outside.
3 Toesty heated sock runtimes: 4+ hours high, 8+ medium, 12+ low

12 Hours Battery Life.

4+ hours on high, 8+ on medium, 12+ on low. Medium covers a full day out and still has something left at the door.
Recharges overnight on a standard USB-C cable, and the battery sits flat in a calf pocket you can reach without taking your shoe off.

The Heat Reaches Your Toes.

Most heated socks run the element across the top of the foot, which was never the part that was cold.
Toesty wraps the toe box. That’s where it starts, and that’s where the heat goes first.

Is it normal for my feet to be this cold when the rest of me is fine?

It's more common than most people realise. Feet are the furthest point from the core, and when the body is conserving heat they're first in line to lose it. Plenty of people are warm everywhere else and still have feet that never come up to temperature.

A large share of our customers have Raynaud's or an underactive thyroid. If cold feet are new for you, or came on suddenly, that's worth a conversation with your doctor rather than a pair of socks.

Won't thicker socks eventually do the job?

Only if there's heat there to hold on to. Wool, alpaca, copper and doubling up are all insulation, and insulation is a retention technology — it slows heat leaving, it doesn't produce any.

That's why people work their way through four or five pairs and land in the same place. If your feet start cold, thicker fabric keeps them cold more efficiently.

How does Toesty actually work?

A thin heating element runs the length of the foot and wraps the toe box. A small rechargeable battery sits in a pocket at the top of the calf and powers it.

You press the button when your feet start going cold and press it again when you've had enough. The rest of the time they behave like an ordinary sock.

How do I know which size to order?

Go by your usual shoe size using the chart in the Size Guide above — Medium, Large or XL, with women's and men's sizes listed.

If you're between two sizes, take the larger one. And if it isn't right when it arrives, message us and we'll sort it.

Will they fit inside my normal shoes and boots?

Yes. Through the foot they're the thickness of a standard thermal sock, so your shoes fit as they did yesterday. No doubling up, no forcing a second pair into a boot that was never sized for it.

They're knee-high, so the leg sits under trousers rather than inside the shoe. The battery pocket is at the top of the calf, where you can reach it without taking anything off.

How long does the battery last?

12+ hours on low, 8+ on medium, 4+ on high. Those are the numbers on the settings people actually use, not a best case with the heat barely on.

Most people don't run them continuously — they switch on when their feet start going and off once they've warmed through, which stretches a charge across several days. Recharging is USB, roughly 1 hour from empty.

Do they turn off by themselves?

No. They stay on until you switch them off or the battery runs down. We'd rather tell you that plainly than have you find out.

In practice it isn't an issue for daytime wear, because you notice when your feet are warm and turn them off. It does mean they aren't built to be left running while you're asleep.

Can I wear them to bed?

Wear the socks, but switch the heat off first. Since there's no automatic shut-off, they aren't designed to run unattended overnight.

What works well is warming your feet through for twenty minutes before you get in, then turning them off. Warm feet at the point you're trying to fall asleep is most of the battle.

Will they get too hot?

The top setting reaches around 100°F. Most people find low is enough indoors and save high for going out in genuinely cold weather.

Three settings exist so it isn't a choice between frozen and overheated. If your feet come up faster than expected, drop a setting rather than switching off entirely — steady low heat is more comfortable than warming up fast and then cooling down again.

Can I wash them?

Yes, machine washable. Take the batteries out first — that part isn't optional, and it's the single most common reason heated socks stop working.

Wash cool, air dry flat, don't tumble dry. A second pair in rotation means you're never waiting on a wash.

What happens if the battery dies while I'm out?

They go back to being an ordinary thermal sock. Nothing gets colder than it would have been — you just stop getting the extra heat.

Is there anyone who shouldn't use these?

If you have reduced feeling in your feet, check with your doctor before using any heated product. Judging heat safely depends on being able to feel it.

Same goes if you're being treated for anything affecting your feet or legs. It's a two-minute question and worth asking.

How long does delivery take?

Orders typically arrive within 5-7 business days, with free shipping on two pairs or more.

If you're buying ahead of a cold snap or as a gift, order a couple of weeks early so there's time to charge them and try a setting before they're needed.

What's your returns policy?

60 days from delivery for a full refund or exchange, whether you've worn them or not. Wear them outside, wear them on the coldest day you get — if they don't do what we say, send them back.
